Grantham Angling Association

Founded in 1872, Grantham Angling Association (G.A.A.) offers membership to everyone with an interest in angling.

We offer a range and variety of waters to suit allcomers, including reservoir, pond and river locations,

some of which hold specimen fish.

G.A.A. waters are available to designated members only. No Day Ticket fishing is available. 


Founded in 1968, Grantham Angling Association Fly Fishing Section (G.A.A.F.F.S.)

Controls over 17 kilometres of river water offering some of the best grayling and trout fishing in Lincolnshire.

G.A.A. Membership Information


All members, current or prospective, are required to fill out and submit a G.A.A. Membership Postal Application Form for the forthcoming season each year. The form is available to download by clicking on the link below. Within the form you will find full details of all fees due for the season, covering adults, senior citizens (66 years plus), juniors and concessionary.


Details are also present covering key access and appropriate fees covering access to Denton Reservoir, Simon's Pond and Queen Elizabeth Park.

NEWS

24/25 News:

Sunday 26th May. QE Park lake, Grantham. We are having a work party to clear debris and weed growth from the lake. Anyone with a spare few hours would be most welcome to join us and help protect this valuable fishery. Meet at 9am in the car park.



23/24 News:

Buckminster. June 24. The Brickyard Pond is suffering from weed growth at the moment, if you wish to fish it is advisable to take a weed rake to clear a swim. There are plans in place to improve the facility for all, so please keep fishing and report your thoughts and finding back to the club.

Simons Pond. The new section is now linked to the main pond and fishable.

Car Parking. Please be sure to display your vehicle pass (Green card) at all times when using our waters.

Simons Pond. Please note that the pond will be closed on Sunday 6th August 2023. There will be no access to the site due to a motorsport event which is using the road as part of its Rally course. Everything will be back to normal on Monday.

Denton  Reservoir. Important information. There has been a suspected outbreak of Blue Green Algae at the reservoir. Please check the attached document and all be careful when fishing.

Oct 2023. Simons Pond. With effect from 4th October 2023, the use of boilies and floating bread is allowed on this pond.

Please refer to the club rules regarding baits and quantities of baits used in your swim at any one session.

Please be always mindful of other anglers' swims and conditions when using floating baits.

Oct 2023. Work Parties. Please be aware that there will be occasional working parties at our waters which will affect fishing access. This is necessary work that will help to keep our waters in top condition for all members. Planned work so far are: Buckminster, Sunday 8th Oct. Queen Elizabeth Park, Sunday 15th Oct.


January 2024. Annual General Meeting.

Proposals must name proposer and seconder.

Proposals must be in 14 days prior to the date of the AGM. (9th February 2024).

Date of AGM – 23rd February 2024.

AGM is held at Great Gonerby Social club. Time 7:30pm.

Entry to the AGM is strictly upon presentation of your valid membership card.
